St. Teresa's Library
Welcome to the Library!
Objectives of the Library Our objective for the St. Teresa Library is to have a QUIET atmosphere for our students to pick out books, work on research, or to just read during their class time each week. Mrs. Honkomp and Mrs. Artmayer are available to help students find books in their reading levels and also to encourage our reluctant readers that there is a book in our library that may interest them. For Parents
Library classes will begin the week of September 9-13 and run through the middle of May. Students K-8 visit the library weekly during scheduled times. (See Schedules) They may have a story read to them, watch a video about a book or author, have "silent" reading or work on research projects. The students also will learn or review what they have learned about topics like, how a library is set up and also how to care for books. All students are able to check out 2 books for one week, with the option to renew for an additional week. A fine of 5 cents per book will be charged for every school day that a book is not returned. Please encourage your child to return their books on time or fines will accumulate. Weekly overdue notices are sent home to students with overdue books and/or late fines on Wednesday. We would like for all students to be able to weekly check out books, but this will not be possible if they have any late books or a fine. Maybe an occasional reminder from mom or dad would help especially the younger ones to remember "Library Day". |
